Haley was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ in Livingston, Texas. She was a lifetime honorary member of the Pilot Club. Haley lived in Livingston her whole life. In March 2014, Haley was diagnosed with new onset heart failure. She was a double heart transplant survivor who was born with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. At the age of 13 months, Haley received her first pacemaker to sustain her life until cyclosporine became available for children. In 1988, at the age of 5, she received her first heart transplant. Again at age 15, she found herself in heart failure and required a second heart transplant. Haley has spent much of her life going to doctors, and hospitals had become like a second home for her. Haley was diagnosed with Lymphoma on September 20, 2012, and she received 4 months of chemotherapy to rid her body of cancer. The chemotherapy drugs damaged her heart, which had resulted in the need for another heart transplant. Unfortunately, Haley was not a candidate for a heart transplant until her cancer had been in remission for 5 years. In February of 2014, Haley developed an abnormal heart rhythm forcing her to be hospitalized for the entire month of March. She eventually had to undergo 3 cardiac ablation procedures causing her heart rate to fall dangerously low. She then had to have a pacemaker placed in her heart to keep her heart rate at a normal rate. In March of 2014 Haley was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She continued to battle heart failure until she went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2014. Haleys family would like to extend a warm thanks to the City of Livingston and the surrounding Polk County residents for all their thoughts and prayers through the 32 years of Haleys Life. Haley was the light of the world to her family and friends. There is a Go Fund Me account set up at http:www.gofundme.comb3vd6k for anyone who wants to make donations in honor of Haley.
