Weaver Battise, born December 31, 1921 to Joe and Rhoda Sylestine Alec on Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation, went to be with her Lord on March 18, 2017 on the Reservation, at the age of 95 years.
She was the oldest tribal elder member. Weaver attend the Indian Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the woman of church choir and pianist. She looked forward to eating at the Church gatherings. Weaver was a matriarch for Texas Softball team. She loves going to ball games (football, baseball, basketball, and softball)
Her loving family includes; son, Harold Battise; two grandchildren, Craig Lee Battise, Darth Ray Battise; nine great grandchildren, Tasheena Castillo, Brailen Battise, Crailee Battise, Charley Battise, Yasmine Battise Weaver, Olivia Battise, Baylee Battise, Landon Battise, Juliet Ember Battise; three great-great grandchildren, Da’Niyah Horace, Nacoda Castillo, Maeleeyah Castillo; her special friend, Burke Walker; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Indian Presbyterian Church in Livingston, Texas. Celebration of Weaver’s life will begin on Friday, March 24 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Indian Presbyterian Church, Livingston, Texas with Elder Debra Battise Kleinman CRE officiating.
