James Alton Hooks Sr. Born June 4, 1927 to James Lee & Vivian Hooks in Call, Texas went to be his Lord March 31, 2017 in Livingston, Texas at the age of 89 years.
James was member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Segno, Texas and a Veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII.
His loving family includes son, James Hooks Jr.; sister, Earl Marie Eddins; grandchildren, James Lee Hooks, William Joseph Hooks, Jennifer Matthews and Greg Matthews; numerous great- grandchildren other relatives and a host of friends.
James is preceded in death by his parent; wife, Bettie Hooks; brothers, Travis Lawayne and David Hooks; sister, Margie Faye; sister- in-law, Hazel Hooks;
Visitation will be held from 5pm till 8pm Monday, April 3, 2017 at Pace Funeral Home
A Celebration of James Life will begin at 10 am Tuesday, April 4, at Pace Funeral Home with Pastor Mitchel Murphy officiating.
Interment to follow to Magnolia Hill Cemetery in Segno, Texas
