Elizabeth Ann Leatherwood ("Liz"-age 87) was born on June 30, 1930 and passed away on the morning of January 8, 2018 surrounded by her family. Liz was the oldest of six children and grew up in Anderson, Texas. She was an extraordinary woman. She worked hard all of her life and retired from Nabisco in 1986. She was determined, TOUGH, had a fiery personality, and a wonderful smile that would light up a room.
Liz was rich in life experiences; she had stories for every occasion and was a teacher to many. She taught many of us how to drive a car, catch a fish, sew our own outfits, grow gardens, there was nothing she didn't know how to do and never met a stranger.
Liz will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Alicia Tabor and her husband Kevin; grandchildren, Brittany Ferguson and her husband Joshua, Zachary Jones, and Vanessa Jones; great-grandchildren, Grayson, and Arlo Ferguson; her sister, Vicki Stark; her brothers, Arch Karonka and his wife Pamela Karonka, brother Sylvester Karonka; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Leatherwood; and her bothers, Floyd Karonka and John Karonka.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2590 Hwy 190 W. in Livingston, Texas (next to Pace Funeral Home). Interment to follow at Rosewood Memorial Park Cemetery, 22271 US 59 Porter, Texas 77365 Pallbearers: Zachary Andrew Jones, Michael Karonka, Joshua Ferguson, Steven Karonka, James Karonka, Craig Karonka, Mark Karonka, and Chris Thomasson
