Neal Lanto Tate born on January 18, 1935 to Adolphus Doc Tate and Olive Whittington Carter in Homer, Louisiana, passed away on January 3, 2014 at the age of 78. Those left to cherish his memory are son, Tony Tate and wife Sandra daughters, Faye Thibideau and husband Richard, Charlene TateProvenzano stepsons Richard Heeth and wife Nancy, Daniel Heeth and wife Janis grandchildren, Julia, Dana, Rebecca, Laura, Erica, Natalie, Derrick, Aaron, Corrine brother, Charles Carter and wife Pat numerous other nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Neal was preceded in death by his loving wife Lela Pat Tate both parents sister, Baby Faye. Neal served proudly in the United States Army Airborne. He retired with the United States Postal Service in 1998 where he was an auto technician. Neal and Pat moved into the area after his retirement. Neal loved motorcycles, football and Nascar racing but the most cherished thing to him was his family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Pace Funeral Home 200 FM 350 North, Livingston, Texas 77351 starting at 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Celebration of Neals life will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Pace Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Jennings and Brother Charles Carter. Pallbearers will be Tony Tate, Danny Heeth, Richard Heeth, Richard Thibideau, Mike Morgan, Charles Carter and Tommy Mosley. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Military Honors will be presented at the cemetery. A reception will be at the VFW Post 8568 in Livingston, Texas.
