John Wiley Mayo, Jr., born on May 2, 1920 in Maryville, Louisiana to John Wiley Mayo, Sr. and Bertha Bennett Mayo, passed away on January 31, 2014 at the age of 93. Those left to cherish his memory are daughter, Sherry Mayo son, David Mayo and wife Nannette, granddaughter, Kristen Smith husband Fenis greatgrandson Alek Smith close friends, Dr. Jerry Gilliam wife Jackie, and Jim Greer wife Dorothy. John was preceded in death by his parents wife, Marzell Mayo, brother, Dick Mayo and sister, Ruby Johnson. John was a supervisor for 38 years with International Paper out of Pasadena, Texas.
Visitation will be held at Pace Funeral Home located at 200 FM 350 North, Livingston, Texas on Monday, February 3, 2014 between 5:00 and 7:00 P.M. A Celebration of Johns life will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Pace Funeral Home with Pastor Don Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Gilliam, Bob Cella, Jimmy McDaniels, Joey St. Francis, Jerry Estes and Fenis Smith. Interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery.
