Thomas N. Mainer III, died peacefully in Livingston, Texas at the age of 80. Tom is survived by his wife of 38 years, Claudette Stewart; his sister, Fannie Lou Butler of Atlanta, GA.; children and their spouses, Corlene and Kevin Lilley, (Tom IV) and Laura Mainer, (Cindy) Morgan, (Kevin) Mainer, Susie Mainer, Cari and Gene Womack, Kevin and Carrie Stewart; 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas N. Mainer II, Arch Vance, and Floy Nazarine Scott Mainer Vance. Tom was born on November 22, 1935 in Lovelady, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University, Class of ’58, with a Business degree. He was a member of Corp of Cadets and he received an SMU School of Banking degree. After attending A&M, he was a Lieutenant Officer in the Navy and then served in the Vietnam War. Tom was a member of the Huntsville Jaycee’s, Huntsville Chamber of Commerce, Executive Vice President of Huntsville National Bank, President of Texas Jaycee’s, President of Bloomberg State Bank, City of Huntsville Councilman, owner of Golden Horseshoe Farm, President of the Redstone Colorado Community Association, owner/outfitter of Chair Mountain Ranch and Stables, and nominated for Who’s Who of America Up and Coming Young Men. Tom enjoyed portraying the character Cullen Baker at the Cullen Baker County Fair in Bloomberg, Texas along with land developing, traveling, and entertaining/singing. A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 12:00 at the home of Tom and Laura Mainer in Livingston, Texas. Anyone interested in attending, please call Cari Womack, 936-499-4171.
