MARY ETTA (OWENS) KITCHEN, 73, died peacefully Sunday, December 20, 2015, at her home in Coldspring, Texas surrounded by loved ones. She was born December 25, 1941 in Corrigan, Texas to the late William Gilbert Owens and Lucie Louise (Edwards) Owens. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Elmer Earl Kitchen, Jr.; three sons, Darren Earl Kitchen and wife Julie, Bryan Keith Kitchen and wife Stefanie and Kevin Lee Kitchen; one daughter, Tina Kitchen Webb and husband Brian. She is also survived by three brothers; William Owens, Jr. and wife Juanita, John Owens and wife Debbie and Robert Owens and wife Cheryl; five sisters, Joyce Pogue, Linda Karm and husband Donnie, Evelyn Loving, Kathy Kissinger and husband Butch and Mary Wallain. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Nanny” and listed in the order that she was blessed with them; Kailee Kitchen, Kevin Kitchen II, Kacie Kitchen, Jennie Kitchen, Brent Webb, Lanie Kitchen and Harlee Kitchen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by one brother; Fred Gately, Jr.; one sister, Margie Yarbrough as well as her loving parents and grandparents. The family would also like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the care givers and Hospice nurses who so compassionately helped care for her as though she was their own relative as she fought a courageous fight with Alzheimer’s. Funeral services will be held at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. The viewing will be from 5-8pm Tuesday, December 22, 2015 and the service will be at 2pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. She will be laid to rest following the service at Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, TX. |
