Lawrence Gordon (Red) Prince
A graveside memorial service for Lawrence Gordon (Red) Prince will be held at the Centerville Cemetery in Jones County, Mississippi on April 23,2016 at 11:00 a.m.
Mr. Prince passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 after a short illness. He was 85 years old. He was born on March 26, 1931, in Jones County, Mississippi.
He lived in the Livingston area his entire adult life after arriving from Mississippi as a young man. He worked at Sam Houston Electric Company where he retired after forty plus years.
He was avid fisherman, collector of artifacts, and loved to work in the yard and garden. He and his wife loved to travel in the Texas hill country.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janie Jones Prince, Father, Vernon Prince, wife, Betty Jean Simpson Prince; Son, Lamar Prince; Half-brothers, Henry Ellzey, Ronald Ellzey, and B.J. Ellzey.
Survivors include siblings, Martha Clanton, Wayne County, Mississippi; Lane and Hilda Ellzey, Rusk, Texas; Betty and Stoney Kennedy, Laurel, Mississippi; Glenn and Francis Ellzey, Pensacola, Florida; Charles and Christine Rogers, Orlando, Florida, and sister-in law, Virginia Ellzey, Baton Rouge Louisiana, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all the friends and family members who visited him in his last few days of life.
There will be a meal served in the Centerville Community center after the memorial service for all family and friends
