David Wayne “Bubba” Vinson, 64, died December 12, 2016 at home in Abbeville, Louisiana. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston. He was born on August 15, 1952 in San Diego to parents Billy Joe and Patsy Jean Vinson. David Vinson attended The University of Houston with a full ride scholarship for baseball where he graduated with a degree in education. He would continue baseball, and play for the Cincinnati Reds in 1974-75. He would then become an entrepreneur, owning many businesses over his lifetime including: a computer store, a company that pioneered wireless controllers, a restaurant, and others. Most of his professional career was spent at Kroll Factual Data where he was the chief sales officer. His favorite hobby throughout his life was fishing, which he did often after retiring and moving to cajun Louisiana. Late in life Dave very successfully played competitive pool in a local league. He is preceded in death by his parents. David is survived by his sisters, Debbie and Diane; step-mother, LaVerne Vinson of Dayton; daughter, Raye Marie Vinson; son, Travis Cody Vinson and wife Krystalyn and Eric Tyler Vinson; grandchild, Breanna; numerous other relatives and friends.
