Frank Coiro, age 92, passed away on March 22, 2024, in Friendswood, TX. He was born on February 6, 1932, in Anniston, Calhoun, Alabama. Frank was a loving and family-oriented person who cared deeply about children's welfare. He had a down-to-earth personality and despised seeing anyone or anything struggle unnecessarily. Frank had a fulfilling career that included working at Hayes Aircraft in Birmingham, AL, and various roles with Chance Vought and other NASA contractors, contributing to the Apollo and Space Shuttle Programs. He was a dedicated employee and made significant contributions to the aerospace industry. He graduated from John Carroll Catholic High School in Birmingham, AL, and pursued higher education at Birmingham Southern College. Frank's dedication to his work matched his commitment to his family. He is survived by his children Rachel, Dorothy, Oliver, Christina, and Nancy, his sister Kathrine, thirteen grandchildren, and eleven great- grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his spouse, Georgia Sue Burns Coiro, his father John Francis Coiro, Sr., his mother, Dorothy Williams Coiro, several brothers, Robert William Coiro, John Francis Coiro, Jr., and his sister Dorothy Patricia Coiro Hauerwas. Frank enjoyed hobbies such as target shooting, fishing, shrimping, crabbing, and leatherworking in his free time. He was Catholic and found solace in his faith. A memorial service will be held at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, TX, at 10:00 am, followed by graveside services at the family cemetery in Leggett, TX. Donations can be made to Shriners Hospital - Texas instead of flowers. Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, TX, assists the family with the funeral arrangements.
