Rodney Bruce Hoot, 57, of Dodge, TX passed away on August 16, 2024. Born on April 4, 1967, in Houston, Texas. Rodney was a beloved figure in his community, known for his deep passion for bucking bulls and the rodeo lifestyle.
Rodney is preceded in death by both of his parents, Leonard Nelson Hoot Sr., and Mary Ann Brown Hoot; twin sister, Rhonda Hoot; and brother, Tiger Hoot. He is survived by his son, Cody Hoot & wife Brooke; granddaughter, Jemma Hoot; son, Tyler Phillips & wife Dayle Anne; granddaughters, Rae Anne and Tobi Phillips; brothers, Leonard Hoot Jr. & wife Kelly, Terry Hoot Sr. & wife Catherine, Darrell Hoot & wife Kristy; nephew, Cole Hoot; niece, Leslie Hoot Pulido & husband Jorge; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
His presence in the arena was both commanding and inspiring, earning him respect and admiration from all who knew him. Rodney had the best personality and most infectious laugh, which will forever leave a lasting impression on this Earth.
A celebration of Rodney's life will be held on August 21st at Oakhurst Full Gospel Church. Visitation will begin at 1pm with services to follow at 3pm. Graveside service will be held at the Hoot Family Cemetery located at 53 Brown Rd. Huntsville, Texas. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for his passion, spirit, and the positive mark he left on all who knew him.
