Robert "Bobby" Lawrence Cardenas (aka Shadow), 75, Onalaska, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 22, 2024, from natural causes.
Bobby was born on December 10, 1948 to William R. and Sandra E. Cardenas in Detroit, MI. After Bobby graduated Livonia Franklin High School in 1967, he went on to earn a degree in life.
Bobby loved his family and embraced his Mexican heritage. As a young man, Bobby appeared in the Detroit News for his golfing abilities. He liked to stay active, whether he was coaching little league softball and basketball, skiing (water and snow), competing in bed races, rollerblading, or simply being with friends. Bobby had many friends and a smile that lit up any room with his unmistakable upbeat demeanor and greeting, "que pasa". He had a great sense of humor and always had people laughing. Bobby loved music and could cut a rug on the dance floor. He once lived in Carefree, AZ, on Easy Street, and anyone who knew Bobby knows this fit him perfectly. His zest for life was unmatched and he lived it on his own terms to the fullest. Let it be noted that Bobby did not like canned spinach!
Bobby was predeceased in death by his parents William R. and Sandra E. Cardenas. He is survived by siblings Joyce Miltz (John), Curtis Cardenas, and Hollie Cardenas; nephew Chris Miltz (Whitney); nieces, Casie Miltz, Mariah Cardenas, and Alanah Thomas-Cardenas (Chris); great nephew Ezra Miltz; and his dog Louie.
Bobby will return home to Michigan for his final resting place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
