David James Metzger was born on February 28, 1948, in Syracuse, New York, to Robert and Ruth (Gibbons) Metzger. He passed away from this life on January 17, 2025, in Livingston, Texas at the age of 76.

David was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was devout in his faith and loved serving the Lord. David retired from the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for 18 years during the Vietnam war and Desert Storm. He was awarded numerous medals and awards; he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant Airman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Kathleen Metzger; children, Timothy Metzger and Tammy Metzger; brother, John Metzger & wife Joy; as well as many other loved ones and a host of friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Benjamin Hutchison.

A Rosary for David will begin at 10:30am, with a Liturgical Mass to begin at 11:00a, Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Livingston, Texas, with Fr. Paul Kahan, SVD officiating.
