Following graduation he enlisted in the Marines. After his military service he returned home where he began his career in the Floor Care Industry. Moving to Texas he owned a retail vacuum store, later working for Eureka, Whirlpool and finally starting Pro-Line Distributing, a wholesale vacuum distributor, from 1988-2019, headquartered in Cypress, TX.

Gerald was such a caring and giving person. He firmly believed if someone was in need it was your place to help them. He was a fun-loving person with a wit about him that made it so enjoyable to be around him. There was always lots of laughter whenever he was around.
Gerald spent his retirement years enjoying the beauty and serenity of Lake Livingston. He enjoyed fishing, watching football (Texans), baseball (Astros), and Nascar. But most of all he loved the time he spent with the kids, grandkids, great grandkids, siblings and friends.
A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
